Years ago the British gave this Chinese green pearl tea the name Gunpowder due to its resemblance to pellets of gunpowder of that age!

Immediately after being plucked the leaves are steamed, rolled into tiny pearls and left to dry. It is preferred green tea for North African mint teas.
