Reusable 'Earthwise' Sanitary Pads: Jade (M)
Tampons, pads and panty liners along with their packaging and individual wrapping generate more than 200,000 tonnes of waste per year, and they all contain plastic – in fact, pads are around 90% plastic! The average user throws away an astonishing 125 to 150kg of tampons, pads and applicators in their lifetime.
Reusable sanitary pads and/or menstrual cups are not only sustainable, and healthier alternatives, but also a more cost-effective option over time. (As are most reusable items)
They are easy to look after, as you simply wash, dry and go again.
1. Wash all new pads 1-2 times before first use at 40 or less degrees.
2. After use, treat stains before washing - lemon juice and/or soaking in cold salty water is particularly helpful.
3. Hang out to dry in the sunshine, or in a sunny spot indoors. Don't dry your pads on a direct heat source such as a radiator, heated airer or tumble drier. It will degrade a waterproof fabric.
